This winter, for those who live where it grows cold and snows-ponder how it falls, where it lands, and how the earth is covered in a blanket of white, set down by our loving Heavenly Father. Once again, we see that our God is in control. “ He gives snow like wool He scatters the frost like ashes.” Psalm 147:16 Let us serve Him in love and faithfulness. When we repent and put our trust in Christ alone for salvation, we are blessed to be called children of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Everything on earth-including living creatures and the forces of nature itself-do His bidding. He is the Creator and Commander of all things. Ponder the way He planned the weather, the seasons, the water cycle, and the skies above that store it all, ready to be released at His command. Imagine the heavenly realms where God keeps all of the snow and hail stored for His purposes. “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,” Job 38:22 When we see the beauty and wonder of winter, we can praise Him for His marvelous power and plans. We will soon again watch winter arrive knowing He is faithful and will continue to do just as He said. “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, and day and night Shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22Īs we take comfort in knowing God is sovereign and in control of everything, we can also rest assured that He is constant, unchanging, and never grows tired. But we can take comfort in knowing that our God who designed these amazing seasonal changes is the One who is in control of every aspect of our lives as well.
